Senior School (Years 10 - 12)
Welcome to Senior School,
Students in Years 10, 11 and 12, their teachers and leaders make up our vibrant Senior School. Students remain in their allocated sub-school as they make their smooth transition from Year 9 in a program that begins in April to best prepare Year 9 students for the decisions and situations they will encounter as they move into Senior School. Students continue to be supported and assisted by their Home Group Teacher and student wellbeing remains of primary importance.
The College offers a broad based curriculum that caters for a range of skills and interests and prepares students for their transition into further study and work. Approximately 70% of our Year 11 and 12 students select a full VCE program, some with a VET program and 30% of students choose a VCAL pathway with a VET program. In addition, students are encouraged to immerse themselves into the opportunities offered by the College through the Camps and Excursions Program, Careers Expos, University visits, College Productions, Music, Sport and community volunteering to name a few.
The Senior School team is excited to be working in partnership with young people who are approaching adulthood and support parents in that process. The subject teachers, team leaders, sub-school leaders, Pathways Team and senior school administration staff put each students' needs and aspirations as our priority. We know our students as people first and students second. This creates a positive culture based on respectful relationships and culminates in a mentoring program for all Year 12 students. Most Senior School classes are held in the new Senior Learning Centre which includes a study area for Year 12 students and supervised Study Hall for those students in Years 10 and 11 who may have spare sessions in their timetable because they have chosen a VET program which is run outside normal school hours. Specialist classes are held in specialist areas such as the Science Wing, The Film Studio, The Farm, The Technology Wing, The Performing Arts Area to name a few.
We aim to provide each individual student with their Pathway to Success.
