Residential Drafting

Overview

This course is delivered at Chisholm Institute of TAFE in Frankston for students investigating a career in drafting and architecture. The students who undertake this program will complete design and presentation subjects that will complement and prepare the students for further studies in drafting and architecture. Units of competency include:  Produce technical drawings to architectural conventions using CAD software, Provide design solutions to small residential units, Use sketching presentation techniques to communicate design concepts, Undertake surveys of existing sites and buildings. Upon successful completion of this program along with their VCE, students will have preferred entry at Chisholm into the Advanced Diploma Building Design (Architectural) to complete their studies, regardless of ATAR score.  The course contributes to both VCE and VCAL certificates.
