Human Rights & Justice

In this unit, we will learn about how issues from the past impact on current events and politics. The subject will offer students a chance to analyse, challenge, and evaluate societal perceptions and expectations around current issues and policies, and will be given an opportunity to learn about, and participate in, political and social movements. You will also learn about our rights and freedoms, and the measures taken by individuals and groups to ensure these are protected.  The skills developed in Human Rights & Justice will improve literacy, research and communication skills, preparing you well for VCE.

 

Projects/Work

Students will complete research tasks on a range issues and cases related to justice, human rights, and inequality

Students will analyse case studies related to inequality

Students will write an extended response on human rights

Students will plan for and participate in a debate on justice
