Aviation (Drones)

Overview
Remote pilots operating at this level will apply non-technical and technical knowledge and skills to demonstrate autonomy and judgement and will take limited responsibility within established regulatory parameters. This qualification is relevant to individuals operating remotely piloted aircraft (Drones) within visual line of sight, below 400 feet outside of controlled airspace, greater than 3 nautical miles from an aerodrome, outside of populous areas. Remote pilot duties include applying technical and non-technical aviation skills and knowledge. Students doing this qualification will also complete the requirements for certification by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA)

Contribution to the VCE/VCAL:
On completion of the program students are eligible for four credits towards their VCE, two at Units 1-2 level and a Unit 3-4 sequence. Students who successfully complete the Unit 3-4 sequence will be eligible for a 10% increment towards their ATAR. This program will also satisfy the learning outcomes for the VCAL Industry Specific and the Work Related Skills strand
