Media Film

Year 10 Media Film gives students the opportunity to further develop their filmmaking skills and begin to analyse how values are portrayed in films. Students will build on the knowledge they gained in Year 9 Media Film and start to extend their understanding of structuring of time, character, setting and genre conventions within the filmmaking process. The importance of audience as a central component in a film’s creation is also explored in detail.
Students will experience media films from a range of cultures, times and locations.  They will also learn about Australian Stories and how the Australian film industry operates. Students will also build on their existing skills in post-production and complete more complex editing exercises using Adobe Premiere Pro.

  • Create a genre specific short film
  • Complete a series of post-production editing exercises
  • Analyse a film
