Literature

Literature is designed for students who have a passion for literature and enjoy probing deeply into the complex nature of humans and their relations with others, and the places and times they inhabit. The study of literature aims to involve students in reading, writing and talking about the nature and value of a wide range of literature. During this unit, you will study a selection of short stories, poetry, films and novels.  You will read, discuss and write about the texts studied, analysing plot, themes and characters and gain an understanding how writers use literary devices as a means of creativity and an expression of the world around them. This subject will help you with VCE English and could also lead to VCE Literature.
