Agriculture and Vetenary Science

This course will cover care and maintenance of livestock eg. horses, cattle, sheep, pigs, goats, alpacas as well as smaller animals such as dogs and cats.  Theory will cover such aspects as animal structure and function including first aid and disease control.  The latest techniques related to reproductive technology will also be covered.  A large component of the course is practical based with students undertaking basic animal husbandry tasks on a range of animals.  A visit to a number of vets and horse studs will also be undertaken.  Placement of students for work experience at a vet will also be a part of the course.

  • Completion of notes in workbook
  • Completion of practical tasks
  • Completion of short answer test.
