| Appeals | If a family wishes to appeal an enrolment decision, parents/carers must lodge a written appeal with the College by Friday 17 July 2026. Parents/carers must indicate their intention to appeal to the school on the ‘Year 7 Placement Acceptance Slip’ and use the appeal form in the Appeals Information Pack for parents and carers provided by the primary school along with their unsuccessful application letter. Please email your appeal to transiton@emc.vic.edu.au confirmation of receipt of your appeal will be provided once received. |

All supporting documentation requested on original welcome letter from the College is due. Documents can be emailed to the Transition Team at transition@emc.vic.edu.au. If you are unable to email your documents, copies can be delivered to the College Office during office hours (8:30 am – 3:30 pm). Please note that the office will be closed during the school holiday period. |

Transition to Secondary School Information
Grade 6 into Year 7 is a very exciting time for students and their families. At Elisabeth Murdoch College, we follow the Department of Education and Training state-wide transition program.
All the early transition for Year 6 to 7 is handled by your primary school. Your primary school will distribute forms to families in early Term 2. This important documentation is where parents will select their secondary school of choice.
We encourage families to discuss any queries they may have with the transition process with their Grade 6 teacher or primary school transition coordinator.
The college holds an Open Night late Term 1 and numerous college tours throughout the year (conducted by our Principal and Transition teams), we hope families will be as informed as possible about our college and what we can offer for every student. Information regarding the booking of these can be found on the homepage of this website.
We encourage families to attend our college tours to see how our college operates on a normal school day.
We request that all families applying outside of our College zone attach to their transition to secondary school application a letter addressed to our principal team, stating the reasons why you would like to attend our college for Year 7. Information such as school reports, letters of recommendation and NAPLAN do NOT required. To check if you are within our school zone, please visit the following link: Find My School
Specialist program applications for Year 7 in 2027 will not open until Term 3 and will only be accessible to students who have been accepted into the college as a student for 2027. Families will find out through their primary school what secondary school they have been allocated in late Term 2, please check with your primary school surrounding this date.
