What credit will I receive towards my VCE?
VET programs contribute to the VCE certificates. They also contribute to a VCE students ATAR which is used for university selection. Selected VCE VET programs offer scored assessment for Units 3 and 4 in the same way all VCE studies do and includes an end of year exam.
VET programs contribute to the VCE in one of the following ways:
- Credit toward the VCE: units at Units 1 – 2 level and a Unit 3- 4 sequence. Where a Study Score is available, it can contribute directly to your ATAR. These studies are Business, Dance, Engineering, Furniture Making, Health Services, Hospitality, Music Industry, and Sport Aquatics and Recreation.
- Credit towards the VCE: units at Units 1 – 2 level and a Units 3 – 4 sequence. Through block credit a contribution of a 10% increment towards the ATAR or as a fifth or sixth subject.
- Credit toward the VCE Vocational Major (VM): VET units contribute towards the industry specific skills strand at all VCE VM levels.

Unique Student Identifier (USI)
From 2015 the Australian Government requires all students undertaking a VET course to have a Unique Student Identifier (USI).
Your USI will help you keep your training records and results together in an online account controlled by you. Each time you enrol in a course of study with a new training organisation, your USI will be used to store your training records and results.
By having a USI, you will be able to access your training records and results (or transcript) whenever you need them. For example, when you require them for a new employer or when you enrol to study at a new training organisation.
To register for your VET course, you will need to obtain your USI
Without a USI we would not be able to issue you a Certificate or Statement of Attainment.
The following link is to the site where you can create your USI
